The "Real" Mandee

So for my English 102 class we had to write about the real you.  Not a biography about yourself, but some of your traits and who influenced you to have those traits you have today.  Of course, I was over thinking it wayyyy toooooo much but after much "hard work" I finally finished it and I would like to show it to you, my sweet and lovely readers. :)   So here it is, tell me what you think, and if you agree.  And yes,  I wrote it in third person.  I thought it would be fun. :)

The "Real" Mandee
Mandee.  Stubborn.  Random.  Sarcastic.  Loud.  Social.  Shy.  Modest.  Assertive.  Supportive.  These are just some of the words that describe Mandee.  Some of these traits are considered positive, while others would argue that some of them are negative.  Other people in her life have influenced all of these traits that make her whole.  Without a doubt, these words will definitely help you understand the “real” Mandee a little bit more than you already do.
Regardless of who you are, Mandee’s stubbornness shows through to just about anyone.  Both her Mother and Father also have this trait, and being she is an only child; it is thought that she has double the stubbornness in her.  On top of that, Mandee’s ancestors are from Germany, and Germans have a reputation for being stubborn as well.   However, if you ask her nicely instead of telling her what to do, she will gladly help you out no matter what.
Some of the things that come out of Mandee’s mouth can be random…unexpected…unpredictable.  Mainly this has to do when she is speaking about a certain subject and all of a sudden sees something else that catches her eye.  This trait is definitely something that she inherited from her Mother.  It would be no surprise for her to be caught off guard by seeing an animal and immediately start talking about it and/or want to try and pet said animal.  Also, if a certain word in the conversation makes Mandee think of something else, she will immediately bring up that thought, so she doesn’t lose her train of thought.  Random is a word that most people who know her even very little, would describe her as.
Sarcasm is probably one of Mandee’s less favored traits from her friends and family closest to her, but undeniably comical.  Normally with her sarcastic comments, she receives some type of scoff or an eye roll.  In all honesty though, Mandee means it in all good fun.  She definitely enjoys when another person understands her sarcastic ways and can respond the same way as her.  However, she doesn’t appreciate some of her Mother’s sarcastic comments to her.  Even though she has this trait from her Mother, Mandee has put her Mother in her place with her comments.  Mandee's friends and family know that an appropriate zinger about a situation or person will soon be coming.
Loud and Social for Mandee’s traits definitely go hand in hand.  Unlike the past traits that she seems to have inherited from her parents, this definitely has came about from her friends in the Jr. High and being involved in cheerleading.  Cheerleading opened Mandee up to not just her peers, but to her teachers and such as well.  She became friends with more and more people from surrounding towns, and was not scared to make herself known.  Plus Mandee was interested in meeting other people as well.  She really came out of her shell.  Mandee continues to be well known for being loud and social which can sometimes be a good thing or a bad thing, depending how you look at it.
That being said, of course Mandee is also considered to be shy and modest.  Being modest is definitely something that Mandee is well known for.  These traits are undeniably picked up from her Mother, who is also known for having low self esteem.  If a person were to compliment Mandee about her personality, looks, or her achievements, she will almost always shoot it down 99% of the time with some negative comment.  Of course, depending on the person depends on how negative the comment is.  Following that negative comment will show up some very blushed cheeks, and it won’t be because of her make-up.  To Mandee, she believes she is just your average girl.  There isn’t anything in particular special about her to dote on.
Assertiveness is something that Mandee picked up unfortunately from being bullied in school at a young age.  It also probably didn’t help Mandee that she was an only child. Mandee wasn’t used to being treated in a different kind of manner and did not handle it well.  A lot of times when Mandee was younger she came home crying about the mean things that had been said to her or done to her physically.  Thankfully, the older Mandee got, she learned to finally stand up for herself.  Not only will Mandee stand up for herself, but for her friends as well.  It is not a shock to anyone, that if you speak in a negative way about her friends, family, or anyone else she cares about that she will put you in your place immediately and have you eat your words.
Which brings us to our last word that describes Mandee…Supportive.  If you are one of Mandee’s closest friends, or in her family, she will always be there for you.  It doesn’t matter if you need someone to talk to, or if you’re partaking in a certain event, Mandee will try her best to be there for you and make it loud and clear she is cheering you on.  Mandee will always have her shoulder there for you to cry on and have your back if you need it at any time.  Mandee being so supportive has to do with the lack of support she received when she was younger from her parents.  This has opened Mandee’s eyes on how to treat other people the way she would want to be treated, and also on how to be when she is a Mother herself.
All in all, Mandee has a big heart.  Even with some of her negative traits, she just wants what is best for her closest family and friends.  Just be careful of stepping all over her heart, as that is not a pretty sight.  If you truly care and show it to her, Mandee will always be in your corner.  No matter what.

So there you have it...my first paper for my English 102 class.

  1. Love this! You described yourself to a tee! I couldn't think of any other traits to describe you better. My favorite is that you're supportive. I've realized this more and more as the years have went by and we've became friends. The only thing I would add, is that you're honest, which I love! Your honesty is an awesome trait! :)
